A collective is an organizational form where the members collectively make decisions in a democratic system. In this way, the members ultimately control the direction of the company, functioning similarly to shareholders in a corporation. Unlike a corporation, the structure is flat with no bosses or expected return for investors – unless the members decide to elect these positions. It is true that creating a collective adds some new challenges to overcome. However, we strongly believe that collective organizations, especially in creative fields, are the right direction for the future. It is a model that trusts the people who are most passionate about the creation get to make their own decisions – right or wrong – for their creative output. It also ensures that all members have a voice and stake in the organization.

The main goal of Rue Rogue CC is to provide a space for creators to have both freedom and support in their pursuit of artistry within the interactive space. The collective aims to provide opportunities for members to explore and grow their artistry and craft through various initiatives. Ultimately, the collective hopes to expand the scope and possibilities within the interactive space.

As a collective, this is ultimately a decision made by the members. While members are free to work on their own projects independently of the collective, for works done under the collective we will aim for more collaborative projects. Regardless, we aim towards more artistic, experimental, and novel endeavors within games, narratives, and other interactive mediums. Rue Rogue CC is an ever-changing and evolving organization that is made possible through the cooperation of its members. The collective seeks diverse and talented folks from different backgrounds, countries, disciplines, and skill sets. Each member brings something exciting and unique to the collective! We are excited to welcome new voices to the collective, however, we also need to ensure the right members are joining. In general, we are looking for those who have reached a professional, ‘working’ stage of life and have at least one valuable skill they can contribute.
